Achieving Carbon Neutrality for California Cement

Progress Has Been Made…Next Steps are Crucial!

CNCA’s Carbon Neutrality Plan

This plan charts a realistic and actionable path to decarbonization. There are 3 pathways and 8 levers necessary to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045. This plan also identifies key barriers with recommendations for policymakers and regulators to unlock the emissions levers.

The Passage of Senate Bill 596

CNCA’s plan was a foundational component to this landmark legislation, sponsored by Senator Becker. This bill was supported by CNCA and passed in 2021. It is the first bill in any California sector to focus on achieving net-zero emissions by 2045.

Implementing Senate Bill 596

Cement producers collaborate with CARB but recognize that legislative and regulatory actions will be necessary to meet these world-leading goals.

What You Can Do

Legislative and regulatory support is needed to remove barriers and unlock pathways to accomplish this 2045 goal.
